24th February

Day of Investigation.
This is an important day for us. Investigation of disease in national parks is an important component of wildlife-human-livestock interfaces. In the morning Tony Saisbury divided all participants into four groups and gave us the task to survey Sariska Tiger Reserve where a mock disease outbreak had been set up simulating the mass saiga die-off in Khazakstan in 2015.
After surveying the mock outbreak each group provided feedback on their findings and a wider discussion ensued. We closed the day out discussing the post-mortem findings from our previous day’s practical of a wild board field post-portem.
This was a fruitful day of learning for us.
